Creating and modifying CU images
Unisphere supports the managing of CU images.

About this task
Steps
- Select the storage system.
- Click Hosts > Mainframe.
- Click the number under , to display the CU Images list view.

Do one of the following:
- To create a CU image, complete the following steps:
- Click Create.
- Select a split. You can type the name of a split in the search box to filter the list of displayed splits.
- Type the CU Image Number. Valid values are between 0x00 and 0xFF.
- Type the SSID. Valid values are between 0x0002 and 0xFFFF. 0x0000 and 0x0001 are invalid values.
- Type the Number of Base Addresses. Valid values are between 1 and 256. The default value is 256.
- Type the Number of Alias Addresses. Valid values are between 0 and 255. The default value is 0.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
- Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
- To modify a CU image, complete the following steps:
- Select an existing CU image.
- Click Modify.
- Modify one or more of the properties of the CU image.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
- Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
- To delete a CU image, complete the following steps:
- Select an existing CU image.
NOTE: A CU image can be deleted only when no volumes are mapped to it. If a CU image has mapped volumes, then the delete CU image dialog box has an option to unmap volumes before attempting to delete the CU image.
